Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan
KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, said the State Government has its own way in governing the people and the State.
“We should follow the standard Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in accordance with what is required in Sabah.
“It is because we are (the one) managing Covid-19 here better than elsewhere.
“Therefore, why should we not have our own way of handling things? (If) we want to follow them, we will have more Covid-19 (cases),” said Dr Jeffrey, who is also Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) President, in showing his support to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor’s announcement Monday on the implementation of the Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan in Sabah which also allowed certain economic and social activities to resume operation from June 29.
Dr Jeffrey, who is also the Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, also urged those grippling with Covid-19 cases in West Malaysia to follow the way Sabah handles Covid-19 cases.
“The way we are handling it is the best way at the moment. They (others) should follow us,” said the Keningau MP and Tambunan Assemblyman.
