KOTA KINABALU: Road potholes plaguing residents of Kampong Kopungit was finally resolved after its newly appointed Chairman of the Kg Kopungit Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) Chairman, Charles Gokin, took the initiative to seek funds from Nominated Assemblyman Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee.
Gokin said the potholes in Jalan Bukit Perwira, Kg Kopungit, has been worsening and the villagers who live in the upper part had to endure its bad condition. Every time when crossing this section, the bottom of their vehicles will slide, bump and get dented.

He said he and his committee had previously made a complaint to the authorities but was informed that the road was not maintained by the Public Works Department (JKR) or Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) so they decided to write to Yong to contribute fund for the purchase of asphalt while they do the communal work or gotong royong.
“We are very pleased with the quick response from Datuk Yong who approved our request from his assemblyman allocation “Sentuhan Kasih” for this purpose.
“Yong further asked for the road to be repaired immediately and not let the residents wait long,” Charles said.
